Michael Bartley Peters (born October 9, 1943), better known as Mike Peters, is an American Pulitzer Prize-winning editorial cartoonist and the creator of the comic strip ''Mother Goose and Grimm''. Early life He was born in St. Louis, Missouri, where his mother, Charlotte Peters, was a local television personality with one of the earliest TV talk shows, interviewing film stars and politicians as early as 1949. Accompanying his mother to the studio, he would meet such celebrities as Bob Hope and Martin and Lewis. The show influenced Peters's own life: :My mom did more than a talk show. Michael Douglas Peters (August 6, 1948 – August 29, 1994) was an African American choreographer and director who is best known for his innovative choreography in music videos. Early life Michael Douglas Peters was born in Williamsburg, Brooklyn on August 6, 1948, to an African American father and a Jewish mother. His mother enrolled him in his first dance class at the age of 4 because all he ever did was dance around the house. Peters was inspired by Broadway musicals such as “My Fair Lady” and “West Side Story” to pursue a career in the performing arts. He grew up in a housing project in Brooklyn where he experienced gang wars in the neighborhood which would later inspire his choreography. Cancer Bats is a Canadian hardcore punk band from Toronto, Ontario. To date, they have released seven studio albums and six extended plays; with their most recent LP, ''Psychic Jailbreak'', having been released on 15 April 2022. The band is currently composed of lead vocalist Liam Cormier, drummer Mike Peters and bassist/guitarist Jaye R. Schwarzer. The band are also currently joined by touring guitarists Stephen Harrison and Nick Sherman, following the departure of founding guitarist Scott Middleton in 2021. Cancer Bats take a wide variety of influences from heavy metal sub-genres and fuse them into hardcore and punk rock, and also include elements of Southern metal. Michael Harold Berry Peters OBE (born in Luton, UK) is a designer. He has been in the design industry for more than 35 years. Peters has started several design companies, including Michael Peters and Partners, Michael Peters Group PLC, and Identica. Education After completing Luton Grammar School, Peters studied at the London School of Printing and Graphic Arts (now London College of Communication). Tom Eckersley, John Gillard, and Harry Beck, the creator of the London Underground plan, were among his teachers. After graduating he won a scholarship to Yale University's School of Art and Architecture in New Haven, Connecticut, where he studied under Paul Rand, Josef Albers, Norman Ives, Herbert Matter and Alexej Brodovitch.
